Do you need a visa for vietnam:

A visa is a type of document issued by a competent authority of a country, allowing foreigners to enter that country. A visa allows foreigners to have the following activities: entry, accommodation, and leaving the country for a specific period. Visa is to allow that nation to manage and control admission processes to guarantee national security and safety. Follow Clause 11, Article 3 of the Law on Entry, Exit, Transit, and Residence of Foreigners in Vietnam 2014, which contains provisions pertaining to visas for Vietnam.

How to issue visa

The case not to have issued following:

  • Visas are issued to the parents/guardians for children under 14 years old sharing the passport with the parents.
  • Visas are issued to the personnel review list of immigration management:
  • Foreigners visiting, tourists, or transiting who need to see and travel to 
  • the program of an international travel agency organized by Vietnam.
  • Members of foreign military vessels visit outside the province or city where the ship is anchored.

The value and purpose of a visa:

– Visas are valid for one time or times.

– Electronic visas and visas according to the personnel review list of the immigration management mentioned above are valid for one entry.

Visas cannot be converted for other purposes, except in the following cases:

– Having documents proving that they are investors/representatives of foreign organizations investing in Vietnam according to the provisions of Vietnamese law;

– Having documents proving the relationship between father, mother, wife, husband, or child with the inviting or sponsoring individual;

– Being invited or sponsored by organization to work and having a work permit or confirmation that they are not subject to a work permit according to the provisions of the law on labor;

– Entering with an electronic visa and having a work permit or confirmation not subject to a work permit according to the provisions of the labor law. 

– Visas are valid for one time or times.

– Electronic visas and visas according to the personnel review list of the immigration management mentioned above are valid for one entry.

Visa validity period: 

The visa validity period is stipulated in Article 9 of the Law on Entry, Exit, Transit, and Residence of Foreigners in Vietnam:

Conditions of the visa:

Based on Article 10 of Entry, Exit, Transit, and Residence of Foreigners in Vietnam, the conditions of a Vietnam visa include:

  • Having a passport or international travel documents
  • Being invited by an organization or individual in Vietnam.
  • Must have documents for the purpose of entry (depending on each object and purpose of entry to Vietnam).
